About David

David Meissner is an educator, writer, and consultant with a wide range of interests, skills, and experiences. He has written children’s books, developed web sites, produced video interviews, and created innovative, original content for the American Federation of Teachers, the National Center for Learning Disabilities, the Environmental Education Exchange, and WETA, Washington D.C.’s PBS television station.

David has degrees in international relations and Spanish from the University of Virginia as well as a master’s degree in childhood education from New York University. He has traveled to 30 countries, speaks four languages, and has a special interest in improving the global literacy of young people.

Over the past 15 years David has worked with children in many capacities. He has coached basketball teams, led hiking and camping trips, taught English abroad, and presented to hundreds of K-5 classrooms. He is currently a fifth grade teacher at a public elementary school in Brooklyn, New York.
